In stock. A set collection card game for 2–4 players who play rival Victorian-era magicians.

The Illusionist is a 30-45 minute, set collection card game for 2–4 players who play rival Victorian-era magicians.

The goal of the game is to become the City's most prominent performer by having the highest number of Prestige Points at the end of the game. Prestige Points are earned by creating/assembling astounding illusions and “performing” them at various types of theatres in the city. Strategy, timing and elements of luck all play a role in your rise to prominence, as do the political machinations and jealousy of your peers.

The suits are represented by four different types of illusions commonly performed by late-Victorian era stage magicians and you will need an “A-ha!” idea card of a suit and a card of values I, II and III of the same suit to perform an illusion to earn Prestige Points points.

With 16 different Magicians to play, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, optional Trait cards, and the all important Events (“fate”) deck that you both need and dread, the game offers endless quick replayability. The game takes 30–60 minutes to play.

The Illusionist is available now for CDN$25.99 direct from our website. The price includes the game components: 170 cards and 8 player tokens (8mm cubes in four different player colours). Payment is available via PayPal or e-transfer (in Canada) after we confirm your address and shipping costs via email reply. In addition to the game components, players require the printable rules and game board that are available as free PDF files (see link below).
